When it comes to roofing for your shed green is more than just a color it is an environmentally sound way of putting the finishing touches on your garden shed project.
How to shingle a garden shed roof.

Cut the tabs off a shingle.
Bitumen shingles require galvanised nails with a minimum 10mm head to secure them.
Continue nailing cut shingles along the bottom row to create a solid strip of shingles at the bottom of the roof.
Use a hammer stapler to fasten it down applying a staple every 12 to 14 inches.
Begin shingling at the bottom edge of the roof starting at one end.
Step 2 position the first shingle so its end overhangs the edge of the roof by 1 1 4 to 1 1 2 inches.
Lay the entire first row one at a time nailing each down with one inch roofing nails.
Make sure the top and bottom of each row overlap by 2 inches 5 1 cm.
Drag it gently from one end of the roof to the other east to west or west to east.
Roll out and staple down roofing felt in overlapping rows.

Installing a shingle shed roof is very simple and requires little diy know how.
Use a chalk line or straightedge and framing square to ensure that your rows remain neat and orderly all the way across your roof.
Begin at the bottom working in horizontal lines and gradually moving upward.
Attach the starter strip.

Secure each shingle at the top using three 1 in 2 5 cm roofing nails.
If your shed roof is flat or has a pitch of 18 degrees or less consider building a green roof on it.
Wooden cedar shingles require about 1kg 1400 nails of 31mm x 1 8mm silicone bronze annular ring nails for 6 bundles of shingles.
Cover the roof with roofing felt.
Install the drip edge over the gable end felt and under the eaves felt.
