Command hooks can work too. Clean wall surface where you will be applying hooks with rubbing alcohol and clean cloth or paper towel. Suspension of curtains from the walls will work especially well if you have higher windows where reaching to the top can be difficult. I managed to hang them wide by placing the brackets on the edge of the window and allowing the rod to stick out further but you are stuck having to hang them directly on top of the window.
